The Baton Rouge Area Chamber is working to compile a list of available temporary and long-term workspaces for lease for organizations displaced by the flooding.
BRAC says it is currently seeking information on large and small commercial spaces as well as for warehouse spaces.
The chamber says anyone with available space or in need of space can contact BRAC Policy and Research Project Manager Logan Anderson.
BRAC says it experienced some difficulty on Monday contacting some businesses because of inoperative telephone service. Open businesses, though, reported minimal damage, but said their workers have not been able to fully access their facilities, the chamber says.
Meanwhile, the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce says that thanks to its cloud-based database, it still has access to emails, business owners and accounts.
“We can communicate with you through email, text, social media, etc. Until we get the lines in place, email to me is best,” the chamber says in a statement. “We are working to get into Denham Springs and get operations in place and to get to the building to begin cleanup so that we can serve you. We are updating our website with information that is valuable to you to get you through this.”
The chamber has added a disaster recovery feature specifically for business.
