With 38 new and expanded facility announcements in 2014, Baton Rouge is tied with Dayton, Ohio, as the nation’s No. 2 city with a population between 200,000 and 1 million for the most project announcements in 2014, according to trade magazine Site Selection’s annual Governor’s Cup awards, released today.
Meanwhile, with 200 announcements of such projects—either involving $1 million in total investment, the creation of 20 or more jobs, or 20,000 square feet or more of new construction—Louisiana saw its ranking rise two spots to No. 9 on Site Selection’s ranking of states. When ranking the states for new and expanded corporate facilities per capita, Louisiana is ranked No. 3, unchanged from last year’s rankings.
