Boudreaux’s, the iconic catering hall that has been on Government Street for the past 37 years, is now on the market for $2.2 million.
The 20,000-square-foot property—which sits on 1.5 acres of land in the heart of Mid City, next to Baton Rouge Magnet High—is selling for $109.24 per square foot, and, according to the listing, the owner is “willing to sell the real estate with the business component still operational.”
Owner Irvin Boudreaux might retire soon, says company event coordination specialist Jeanine Pence Devenport, and he wants to see if there’s any interest in the business.
“There’s nowhere else to go at this point,” Devenport says, adding that Boudreaux’s hasn’t booked any events for 2019.
Boudreaux restored the building, which was formerly home to Bob and Jakes restaurant, shortly before opening the catering hall in 1980. Since then, it has been a popular venue along the up-and-coming Government Street corridor for wedding receptions, banquets, holiday gatherings and corporate functions.
The family-owned business made several upgrades in 2015, including redesigning its logo and offering Sunday brunch.
