House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, is making his first trip to the Pelican State since being elected as speaker in January, joining the entire Louisiana Republican congressional delegation for a fundraiser in New Orleans later this month. The event will be held at Republican political consultant Mary Matalin’s Uptown home on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Invited guests are being asked to donate from $1,000 to $25,000 per couple, with all funds “dedicated to strengthening the Republican House majority,” according to an invite.
