Blueprint Louisiana, a business-backed nonprofit organization, will soon release a revised version of its original Blueprint Agenda for the fall legislative elections. “We’re in the process of finalizing the plan, and probably 10 days to two weeks from releasing it publicly,” says Brad Lambert of Harris DeVille & Associates, a communications firm working with the group. “We’ve had meetings and conference calls; now we just need to cross the t’s and dot the i’s.”
The organization’s Blueprint for Reform, first published in 2007, urges various reforms in legislative ethics, education, employment, health care, transportation and coastal restoration/hurricane protection. Blueprint Louisiana’s website lists individual reform proposals in checklist form, with symbols noting progress or lack thereof on each one. Lambert did not specify what areas of the Blueprint agenda would change, though the PreK-12 education and health care items have seen the least progress.
