Block Builders has started work on Hidden Cove, a 42-unit development near Gardere Lane. Hidden Cove will be made up of “Katrina Cottages,” efficient and affordable permanent housing. The Cypress Group of Washington, D.C., is developing the $5 million project, which should be complete by July. The Resource Foundation, which owns the land, and the Louisiana Recovery Authority, are also involved in the partnership. The Resource Foundation and the LRA will handle the pricing and sale of the cottages.
