BlackBerry maker says service fully restored

Research In Motion, the maker of the BlackBerry phones, says service has been fully restored this morning, concluding the three-day period of outages occurring on five continents. Mike Lazaridis, the co-CEO of the company, tells reporters the backlog of messages that had clogged systems since Monday has been cleared up. The outage started with a failure in a RIM data center in Europe and cascaded thence across the world.
