‘Baton Rouge Weekend’ to hit C-SPAN

C-SPAN will feature a weekend of Baton Rouge coverage Saturday and Sunday, as its American History and BookTV channels feature “Red Stick” history and local nonfiction authors. The history segments will air on American History TV- C-SPAN3 (Cox Channel 143) and the nonfiction literacy segments will air on BookTV-C-SPAN2 (Cox Channel 142). American History TV will include tours of the Louisiana State Archives, Plaquemine Lock, Magnolia Mound Plantation, Pentagon and the Old State Capitol. The show will also include interviews with area historians about major events. BookTV will profile authors Rachel Emanuel, Robert Mann, Wayne Parent and Leo Honeycutt and book editor Greg Langley. Video segments are posted here and will be archived on C-SPAN’s Video Library site at c-span.org/videolibrary after they air this weekend. C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicle staff traveled to Baton Rouge earlier this month to gather this programming and partnered with Cox Communication to visit schools and local officials.
