The owner of five Waffle House franchises has sold the restaurants back to the Georgia-based chain’s parent company in a series of deals that netted him roughly $2.9 million.
In five separate deals, Waffle House Inc. purchased the chains back from Frank G. Miller and his holding companies—FW Miller LLC, Miller Properties Inc., FW Miller #4 LLC and Bo Miller #4 LLC.
The restaurants are located in Baton Rouge, Central and Zachary.
“The franchise principal made the decision to sell these franchise restaurants back to Waffle House Inc., and that is the reason for the transfers,” says Pat Warner, a Waffle House spokesman. “These locations will continue to operate as Waffle House restaurants, and the associates at these locations will continue their employment with Waffle House Inc.”
The transactions were filed today with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court.
In the first deal filed this morning, Waffle House Inc. paid Miller Properties $569,057 for the restaurant at 10389 Airline Highway. Miller Properties also sold the Waffle House at 18159 Highland Road, near Blue Bayou Waterpark, for $509,910.
Waffle House Inc. purchased the restaurant at 2363 College Drive, near Banks Avenue, for roughly $1.15 million from FW Miller LLC. It also purchased the property at 5500 Main St. in Zachary for $510,273 from FW Miller #4 LLC.
The final purchase was for the Waffle House located at 14416 Greenwell Springs Road in Central in a $155,000 deal. The seller is listed as Bo Miller #4 LLC.
