Baton Rouge ranks No. 131 on ‘Forbes’ best places for business and careers list

With projected job growth of 1.2% over the next year, household income growth of 2.1% and a cost of living that’s about 0.9% above the national average, Baton Rouge is ranked No. 131 on Forbes magazine’s new listing of the best places for business and careers in the U.S.

Denver is listed as America’s best city for businesses and careers, followed by Raleigh, North Carolina; Portland, Oregon; Provo, Utah; and Atlanta. At the bottom of the list—which includes 200 American cities—is Atlantic City, New Jersey. New Orleans is No. 98 on the list, while Lafayette is No. 175 and Shreveport is No. 178.

Alongside the overall ranking, Forbes also ranks each city for the cost of doing business, job growth and education. Baton Rouge is ranked No. 32 for cost of doing business, No. 81 for job growth and No. 122 for education.
