Baton Rouge citizens will now be able to give real-time feedback about their experiences with city-parish departments and employees using a new app called Expresit.
Mayor Kip Holden’s office announced the app launch this morning, saying Baton Rouge is one of the first municipalities in the U.S. to adopt the Expresit platform for daily government operations. HundredX, the San Diego-based company that created Expresit, worked with the city-parish Department of Information Service for the past several months to customize the platform to fit Baton Rouge and include the city’s government agencies.
Among the departments included in the app are the local police and fire departments, as well as the library system, information services and human resources, and more departments are expected to be added following a pilot period.
“This new Expresit system will help empower those in our community to have a voice when it comes to their experiences with services we provide to them—whether that’s a resident who wants to share suggestions about improving service for next time, or a member of our city-parish workforce who feels recognized for his or her hard work and dedication to quality service,” Holden says in a prepared statement. “This is valuable feedback and will only help improve our operations and future service delivery.”
The app is available on Apple and Android operating systems as well as normal web browsers. It is available for free via the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store. The city-parish has more details on the app.
