Baton Rouge is well represented in the 2015 Louisiana Small Business Awards, presented annually by Louisiana Economic Development and the Small Business Administration to coincide with National Small Business Week.
Award winners were honored at an event at the Governor’s Mansion on Tuesday. Local winners include:
- Minority Small Business Champion: Kasie Coleman, owner of Sugarbelle bakery.
- LED Small Business Resource Partner Award: Leonard Sedlin, Baton Rouge SCORE chapter president.
- MEPOL Small Manufacturing Award: Michelle Schroeder, president of FMK Investments.
- NFIB Small Business Champion: Ted Firnberg, co-owner and president of School Aids.
Also honored with awards this year are businesses and entrepreneurs from the New Orleans and North Shore areas, as well as from Bastrop, Broussard and New Roads. LED has more details on all of this year’s Small Business Award winners.
