In concert with Global Entrepreneurship Week, a consortium of local businesses, entrepreneurs, economic development experts and educational institutions unveiled plans today for the first annual Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week. Scheduled for Nov. 11-20, BREW will feature special events, lectures, pitch competitions, networking sessions and speakers for established and budding entrepreneurs. Featured speakers will include Milun Tesovic of Metrolyrics.com, Catherine Cook of MyYearbook.com and Marlo Scott of Sweet Revenge. A Kauffman Foundation initiative, Global Entrepreneurship Week was started three years ago as a worldwide movement to inspire people to embrace entrepreneurship. This year’s global calendar of events will gather an estimated twenty million people at 40,000 events. Locally, the week is being coordinated by the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Regional Innovation Organization, along with Entrepreneurs’ Organization, the Louisiana Business & Technology Center, the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute at LSU, LSU Continuing Education, Louisiana Technology Park, CMO Accelerator and SeNSE.
