The Downtown Development District has received an award from the International Downtown Association for its Downtown Toolkit: A Visual Guide to Downtown Development in Baton Rouge.
The award was presented this morning at the IDA’s annual conference in Atlanta.
The toolkit is a document offering demographics, statistics and other resources for the development and business community. Using infographics and images, the document gives users a current snapshot into the downtown economy as a whole, featuring real estate statistics, a demographic summary of downtown residents and workers, information about the DDD office, economic incentives, maps such as land-use and daily population inflow/outflow, tourism/hospitality data, and a breakdown of how to obtain planning commission approval and required permits.
“The 2016 toolkit is the most comprehensive economic development piece that we have produced in house,” says DDD Executive Director Davis Rhorer, who was in Atlanta to receive the award. “I am very proud of my staff of the hard work in producing this piece.”
This is the ninth year in a row the DDD has received an award from the IDA. The organization has 2,600 members from around the country.
