Architect Dyke Nelson has purchased a warehouse next to his firm’s office at 235 South 14th St. in Mid City for $1.2 million. The seller was Fornaris Properties, and the deal closed on Friday, says Nelson, who made the buy through a limited liability company he heads called 214 South 14th Street.

Nelson says he bought the 30,000-square-foot warehouse speculatively. A tenant occupies about 8,000 square feet of space in the warehouse, and Nelson says he’s not sure what he’ll do with the remaining space.

“I wanted to invest in this general neighborhood and the vicinity,” Nelson says, adding that an original part of the warehouse was built in 1918.

Rhonda Fornaris with Glisson Properties Real Estate represented the seller, Nelson says.
