St. John Enterprises, a Louisiana barge manufacturer, will open a facility at the Madison Parish Port that will eventually employ more than 400 people, Gov. Bobby Jindal told The (Monroe) News-Star. Jindal will make the official announcement at the port today, when he will also present details of the incentive package the state used to lure the company. The governor told the paper St. John will take over the facility, which has been idle since last fall, when shipbuilder Northrop Grumman left the plant and eliminated 95 jobs.
