Bardwell Homes is developing a new five-home site community called Hilltop Place at Lee and Bennett drives in the heart of the Baton Rouge’s growing Southdowns area.
Owner Scott Bardwell says the site will feature two-story homes that range in price from $600,000 to $750,000 and span approximately 2,800 to 3,500 square feet in size. Each home will sit on a half-acre lot among heritage oak trees, according to a Bardwell Homes’ news release.
Hilltop Place, Bardwell says, will be integrated into the Southdowns area but will have privacy.
The homes will be designed with 1940s-style architecture with features like “deep, inviting porches,” the news release says. The company is working with architect Mike Sullivan of Looney Ricks Kiss on home designs.
Construction of Hilltop Place is expected to begin in January, and the first homes will be completed by summer 2017.
In a deal that closed Friday, Bardwell Homes purchased 3.5 acres of land for Hilltop Place.
“We’re excited to develop Hilltop Place the right way—by preserving the land’s history and building in harmony with the natural elements that have been in place for centuries,” Bardwell says. “These are some of the largest lots available in Southdowns, and the location is unbeatable for families.”
Bardwell Homes specializes in developing heritage lands, including Providence, the last of the Kleinpeter estate, and Stanford Oaks, the last of the Blouin estate, the release says.
Bardwell Homes is currently building communities in four locations across the greater Baton Rouge area: Hilltop Place, Veranda at University Club, Highland District at Magnolia Square and Long Farm Village.
