Baton Rouge and New Orleans were ranked in the top 10 of a new report that measured patient satisfaction with hospital emergency departments. Baton Rouge ranked 10th among U.S. cities with a population of less than 1 million in the Press Ganey survey. New Orleans was tied with Boston and Philadelphia for sixth place among U.S. cities with a population of more than 1 million. Both cities had the same overall score of 85.6. Press Ganey, a healthcare consulting firm, based the report on 1.6 million patient satisfaction surveys taken at more than 1,900 hospitals last year. One of the main factors in creating satisfaction, as measured by the firm, is placing a high priority on keeping patients informed about emergency department delays.
