While most Baton Rougeans are fixated on the BCS National Championship Game, Baton Rouge-based 3Lions Media also has the Discover Orange Bowl in its sights. Orange Bowl representatives approached the digital marketing firm on referral in late November with a unique challenge. The bowl established a Facebook page a little over one year prior, but had done so incorrectly and was forced to start over. They requested a plan from 3Lions not only to establish a new social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, but also a plan for engagement with the two teams, West Virginia and Clemson. 3Lions accepted the challenge and says it has built “the most active Facebook page of all the BCS Bowls combined.” Check it out here. Bowl officials sure like it. “3Lions has been vital to the success we have experienced with growing our social media and digital marketing efforts for the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl game. If not for them, we wouldn’t be experiencing the incredible success we currently are,” says Luke Pitcher, manager of digital marketing and social media for the bowl. “They have been the key component allowing us to build a cohesive branding message to both West Virginia and Clemson fan bases and college football fans everywhere.” The Orange Bowl kicks off on Jan. 4 at 8:30 p.m.
