Baton Rouge’s two riverboat casinos brought in 4.6% more in winnings in June than they did the month before, although the change was entirely due to more business at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge. The city’s two gambling boats won nearly $15.9 million in June, according to state police, up from nearly $15.2 million the year before. Hollywood won $10.1 million in June, a 7.4% increase from the $9.4 million reported in June 2010. The Belle of Baton Rouge, the city’s oldest casino, brought in $5.7 million, a $94 drop from the year before. Statewide, the riverboats, the New Orleans land casino and the racetrack casinos saw an upward movement last month, taking in $197.2 million, a 6.8% increase from $184.7 million in June 2010.
