Jim Austin, partner in charge of Adams & Reese’s Baton Rouge office, was elected chairman of the Louisiana Bankers Association Bank Counsel Section at its annual committee meeting this summer. The Bank Counsel Committee helps plan the agenda and speakers for the annual LBA Bank Counsel Conference planned for Nov. 12-13 at the New Orleans Ritz-Carlton. Nearly 250 lawyers across Louisiana are members of the LBA Bank Counsel Section. Austin has served nearly 14 years as counsel for various financial institutions. For four years, he was the lead lawyer in the 85-member legal department at Bank One Corporation’s private banking line of business.
