Attorney General Liz Murrill has issued an advisory opinion stating that a 2025 state law restructuring the BREC Board of Commissioners does not violate Baton Rouge’s Plan of Government.  The opinion, requested by Parish Attorney Greg Rome, concerns Act 391 from the 2025 legislative session, which reconstituted BREC’s nine-member board.
