CATS CEO Brian Marshall abruptly resigned as head of the beleaguered transit agency this afternoon. In a letter to the board, Marshall says, “my only interest is to build a sustainable system,” adding that, “…the current environment is not conducive to building a sustainable system.” Marshall’s resignation is effective immediately. The announcement took many by surprise, including board members who have been critical of his performance, particularly since voters passed a 10.6-mill property tax last year to fund the agency.
