Baton Rouge’s cadre of food trucks and street food is ever-expanding, with new names like Salivation Station and Three Bones BBQ joining first-comers like Taco de Paco and Southern Dawgz. It’s a trend of national interest, too, as Food Network is debuting a new show called Eat St., and a handy app of the same name, which tracks in real time the food trucks nearest you. Included in this first iteration are faves like Curbside hamburgers, Go Ya Ya’s Crepes and Latte e Miele Gelato; although some local food trucks are missing, future versions will allow users to add new trucks and “crowdsource” locations. In the meantime, using just one app is a handy way to keep track of when and where your favorite trucks will be hitting the streets, rather than following each individually on Twitter or Facebook. And should you venture to other cities, you can easily track down the nearest and best street eats to sate your hunger without having to be a local “in the know.” Free in the iTunes store.
