The Glassell Gallery, on the first floor of the Shaw Center, is holding a reception in celebration of its new exhibition, “Mon Doux Coton: Paintings by Saliha Staib.” A Baton Rouge painter who hails originally from France, Staib is one of the brightest rising stars on Baton Rouge’s art scene. The show runs through June 30, and its opening reception, at which wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, is being held Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery. Admission is free.
The Baton Rouge Zoo invites you and your children to escape the heat and visit the zoo in the cooler evening hours with its summer Twilight Tours program. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, children and their parents will enjoy a twilight tram ride with a zoo guide on hand to tell you all about each animal you see.
