Area restaurants offer cornucopia of Thanksgiving options

Perhaps your planned Thanksgiving meal ended up a Charlie Brown-style disaster, or maybe you just don’t feel up to the stress and labor of making a Thanksgiving dinner on your own. Whatever the reason, Baton Rouge has plenty of places to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal without your having to lift a finger. Copeland’s on Essen is offering a special holiday Pilgrim’s Platter as well as their full menu on Thanksgiving. The Little Village—both locations—will also be offering a special holiday prix fixe menu, featuring everything from roast turkey to rack of lamb. The Crowne Plaza Hotel serves up a full Thanksgiving buffet with all you could possibly want for your meal, including garlic mashed potatoes, prime rib, suckling pig and five varieties of dessert. Craving an intimate Thanksgiving? Try grabbing a table at Ruffino’s and sampling their holiday spread of roast turkey, oyster dressing, sweet potato casserole and much more. The Hilton Capitol Center is preparing a Thanksgiving feast of epic proportions, with pasta, omelets and seafood, as well as more traditional turkey-day fare and live entertainment. Nottoway Plantation will host a buffet featuring all the Thanksgiving favorites, from Cajun-fried turkey breast to sugar-glazed ham. Meat mecca Texas de Brazil opens early at 11 a.m. for Thanksgiving, and even has a few seasonal treats on their menu. Mansurs on the Boulevard will offer limited seating on Thanksgiving afternoon. And if you like your holiday to be a casual affair, Southern standby Picadilly Cafeteria will open its doors wide and serve a full holiday spread, from sweet potato casserole to collard greens.
