Last Thursday marked a milestone for local residential developer Carlos Alvarez: He sold the last of the 240 houses in the Lakes at Jamestown, the largest of the three phases in his planned unit development that sits on Perkins Road between Siegen and Pecue lanes.
The 99-lot Villas at Jamestown and the 50-lot Jamestown Square also are sold out, Alvarez says, though construction continues on the final few houses in Jamestown Square. Alvarez expects to complete them by February.
With Jamestown now under his belt, Alvarez is branching outside the Capital Region to Madisonville in St. Tammany Parish, where he recently acquired several hundred lots in a residential community called Bedico Creek Preserve, which is located at La. 1085 and Interstate 12. In the coming months, Alvarez will develop the lots into homes of 1,600 to 2,000 square feet with average price tags of $200,000 to $250,000.
“It’s a beautiful property,” Alvarez says. “It’s a conservation community with lakes and more than 500 acres of green space.” —Stephanie Riegel
