April Justin, the mother of Alabama football commitment Landon Collins, who made headlines when she expressed her disapproval of her son’s decision on live television, is alleging that Alabama head coach Nick Saban offered a job to Collins’ girlfriend, The Birmingham News reports. According to NCAA bylaws, however, this would not constitute a violation. MomsTeam.com writer Brooke de Lench writes that Justin has said her son’s girlfriend, named Victoria, “had allegedly been offered a job to work in head coach Nick Saban’s office.” De Lench says she was unable to confirm the allegations and cites University of Alabama Associate Athletics Director Doug Walker as saying in an email he “would not comment on anything relating to the recruitment of a prospective student-athlete.” Asked if Collins’ girlfriend had been offered a job, Walker stated, “I have no information regarding that.” Alabama officials did not respond to a request for comment by The Birmingham News today.
