Louisianans are becoming more accepting of same-sex marriage and the legalization of marijuana for personal use, albeit more slowly than their peers around the country. According to the latest findings of the 2015 Louisiana Survey, released this morning, the lead gay marriage opponents hold over supporters—51% to 42%— has shrunk by nearly half over the past two years. The LSU Public Policy Research Lab, which annually conducts the survey, notes though support in the state for legally recognizing same-sex marriages continues to lag significantly behind national opinion.
