Abita Brewing Co. announced today that it has released “The Boot,” a beer specially brewed for Louisianans that will only be available in the state of Louisiana.
“We could have made a new beer and sold it everywhere, but we wanted to create something special for our home state only, the folks who have been with us from the start,” Abita President and CEO David Blossman says in a statement.
The company says the beer was crafted as a “thank you” to show Abita’s appreciation for Louisiana and its culture and lifestyle, which have been an inspiration for Abita’s beers.
“We have a lot of state pride, and we like to keep it local and hold on to some good things for ourselves,” Blossman says.

“The Boot” will be on Louisiana shelves Oct. 3.
