A favorite with weekend warriors and their families, the Play Dirty Adventure Trail Run is a three-mile run filled with crazy obstacles, including a giant mud pit, a balance beam, a tunnel slosh and much more. Plan on getting really dirty. There’s even a mini-muck for those in the 14 and younger crowd who feel like getting muddy. It all happens Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Baton Rouge Fairgrounds. Entry is $55, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting a New Orleans charity whose mission is to fight childhood obesity and encourage fitness in children through education, programs, facilities and scholarship development. Get all the dirty little details at the event’s website here; and read the rest of the new 225 Weekender e-newsletter here for more local happenings going on this weekend.
