To celebrate the 100th birthday of composer and pianist Benjamin Britten, Dugg McDonough has teamed up with conductor Michael Borowitz and the LSU Symphony Orchestra to perform Britten’s haunting ballad opera, The Turn of the Screw. The chamber opera is based on the Henry James novel of the same name, and its plot focuses on the loss of innocence. Musical theater fans take note: Britten’s The Turn of the Screw is considered one of the finest 20th-century operas. The performance starts at 7:30 tonight at the Shaver Theatre on the LSU campus. Tickets are $30 for the general public, with reduced prices for students, faculty, staff and seniors.
