Downtown Baton Rouge will become a dazzling wonderland Friday afternoon, when a half million holiday lights set North Boulevard aglow. Experience the magic beneath the 35-foot Christmas tree in North Boulevard Town Square. Kids can enjoy free ice-skating and play in six tons of real snow at the Snow Village. Roaming performers will be on hand, including a balloon artist, stilt walkers and more. You can also visit Santa’s Gift Shop and listen to holiday music during an evening of visual and performing arts. Downtown businesses will offer holiday open houses and art showings. It all takes place from 4 to 9 p.m., and it’s free and open to the public. There’s also free parking in the River Center parking garages for the event.
