No longer in the shadow of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival or Festival International de Louisiane, Baton Rouge’s own annual Blues Festival has expanded to two stages and a series of backstage talks at the Old State Capitol, where blues performers and experts dig into what the blues is all about. You can catch acts including James Johnson, Henry Gray, Lightnin’ Malcolm, Johnny Winter and many others, as well as munch on delicious festival foods such as alligator-on-a-stick and crab beignets. It’s all happening Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Best of all, admission is free. Complete details and the full lineup can be found here.
