Spring is in full swing, and it shows at the Red Stick Farmers Market.

225 Dine reports locally-grown vegetables such as cucumbers, peppers, green beans, yellow squash, zucchini, sweet corn, potatoes and varieties of tomatoes are now appearing at the market. Later this month, shoppers can look for red beans, eggplant, cantaloupe and blueberries. And if you want to dress up your home with fresh flowers, this month brings sunflowers and zinnias to the market.

If you’re interested in planting your own garden, the green nurseries offer herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, flowering plants and shrubs. Visit with members of the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners on Saturday at the market for advice on growing your summer home garden. The monthly Baton Rouge Arts Market will also return this Saturday.
