The Jones Creek area will have a Snoman Snowballs location “no later than May 1,” owner Jeff Gresse tells 225 Dine.
The new Snoman location at 14666 Tiger Bend Road will be Gresse’s third overall. This latest stand, opening just in time for warmer weather, will be a bit larger than Gresse’s other locations at 9534 Burbank Drive and 3655 Perkins Road. In its initial opening phase, the Tiger Bend Road location will have a similar menu, serving snoballs, hot dogs and nachos. This might change over time as Gresse is considering growing the menu.
“We might expand the ice cream part of the menu and do more sundaes,” he says. “We might do more of the banana splits and bigger shakes and malts.”
Originally, the Tiger Bend stand was slated to open before the Perkins Road location. However, Gresse says he came across challenges with permitting and ordinances. It was worth it, the owner says, because he’s seen high demand for a location in the Jones Creek area.
“I had a lot of people telling me, ‘We travel all the way from Tiger Bend, Shenandoah’ … It got to the point where it became more apparent that we needed to head out that way,” he says.
Business remains steady at his other locations. The Perkins Road stand has picked up considerably, Gresse says, as it has entered its third season. The Burbank Drive stand opened in 2008. The Snoman Snowball season started Feb. 1 and will run through Oct. 31.
