‘225 Dine’: Where to grab food and drinks along the Spanish Town parade route

If you’re headed to the Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade on Saturday and you’re in need of a place to grab a bite to eat or some drinks—without leaving the parade route—225 Dine has you covered.

After scouring downtown and Spanish Town for great food and drinks available on the route, the e-newsletter has compiled a listing of your best bets. The list is ordered from the beginning to the end of the route. There’s also a map of the route to help you make a game plan.

At the corner of Spanish Town Road and Seventh Street you’ll find Spanish Town Market, which will be open and serving food from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“If you’re headed to a house party in the area, grab a burger, a po-boy or some River Road coffee to keep your day rolling,” writes 225 Dine, adding you should be warned: “The store sets up a roped-off queue line that starts outside in anticipation of the crowds.”

Lighter fare will be on tap at the stalls of Main Street Market, where vendors such as Go Ya Ya’s Crêperie, FRESH Salads & Wraps and Our Daily Bread will be dishing up breakfast and lunch into the early afternoon.

Also among those serving food and drinks along the route are PJ’s Coffee, King Bar & Bistro, The Kingfish Grill & Lounge, The Blues Room, Poor Boy Lloyd’s, Aztecas Mexican Cuisine, Bald Eagle Pub.
