The owners of Cupcake Allie announced on Facebook this week that they have decided to not renew the lease at their Perkins Road location and will temporarily move all of their operations to their location at 5251 Nicholson Drive.
As 225 Dine reports, the post explains that the move frees up owners Allie Offner Bookman and Jay Bookman to focus their efforts on getting a Mid City location up and running.
“Mid City, get ready! We want to be there soon!” they wrote. “Also, this opens the door for us to open locations in other parts of the surrounding areas, which we are looking into as well!”
The owners also explained that the Mid City project had been slowed down by “terms at our Perkins store.” Business has been great, they said.
“Now, we are free and clear to move forward aggressively with our Mid City location,” they explained. “It did not make good business sense to renew the Perkins lease for another year and possibly have three Cupcake Allie locations operating on the same side of town.”
The owners also say their phone number will remain the same, and they are updating their website and social media as well.
“We have better hours now! We are open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.,” they wrote. “So if you need a late night treat, we have you covered.”
