Brew Ha-Ha! recently added 1,200 square feet to its space in the Goodwood Shopping Center, taking over the suite next door and will soon add an in-house coffee roasting station as well.

Owner Gabby Loubiere tells 225 Dine the new addition allows for more customer seating and triples the kitchen space, which will help workers better meet the breakfast, brunch and lunch demand.

Loubiere obtained the space in January and renovated through February, with the addition opening at the end of that month. Loubiere broke down the wall to connect the spaces, giving the impression of an overnight renovation.

In addition to more seating, the expanded section of Brew Ha-Ha!, 711 Jefferson Hwy., includes a lounge area with a record player and records provided by Atomic Pop Shop. Customers can choose a record from the Brew Ha-Ha! selection or donate a record of their own to listen to. Local artists’ works are displayed on the walls, and the coffee shop is updating its outdoor signage.

And the front section of the expanded area will soon house a coffee roasting station, officially permitting Loubiere to launch Brew Ha-Ha! Roasting Company.

Loubiere says she always wanted to roast her own beans but has to put it on the back burner for business reasons. She’s planning to source beans from Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Colombia and Guatemala—based on which beans are most in season. In the meantime, the shop will continue to serve Community Coffee, but the in-house brewing will eventually offer customers specialty or flavor blends.
