When 225 magazine was launched in November 2005, Baton Rouge was a strikingly different place than it is today. In the new 10th anniversary commemorative edition, the magazine relives an incredible decade that transformed our city.
From national championships to Hurricane Katrina, the 10th anniversary issue chronicles the moments that made Baton Rouge celebrate, laugh and cry by revisiting the people, places and events that changed the city’s landscape.
But perhaps most importantly, 225 also looks toward the future, envisioning the projects and people poised make Baton Rouge more electric than ever.
Among the stories included in the commemorative cover package is a rundown of pivotal moments in Baton Rouge from the last 10 years, as well as a look at 10 places that changed the landscape of the city and several projects in the works now that are poised to further change the landscape.
Also for the 10th anniversary issue, former 225 Editor Jeff Roedel reflects on his nearly 10 years working on the magazine and shares some of his favorite articles, cover packages, photos shoots and controversies. And the magazine’s first editor, Tom Guarisco, also looks back on the launch of the magazine a decade ago with just three staffers and a large pool of talented freelancers.
Of course, sports—and particularly LSU sports—have long been one of Baton Rouge’s favorite obsessions, and the anniversary issue also looks back on the 10 most memorable sports moments of the past decade.
Check out all of these stories and more in the current 225 cover package celebrating 10 years of covering Baton Rouge.
