‘225’ blogger a finalist in MLB Fan Cave competition

Jay Ducote, the local radio host and culinary personality behind the well-known Bite and Booze blog—and a 225 blogger—is one of 52 finalists from across the country vying to be recognized as one of Major League Baseball’s ultimate fans. The MLB Fan Cave is an online forum for fans to interact with one another, players and celebrities—but it’s also a physical location in New York City that Ducote describes as “every sports fan’s dream.” It includes an “incredible TV setup capable of showing all MLB games at one time on any given night,” Ducote says. “It is also in the heart of Manhattan where celebrities and MLB players will come through for different media appearances all season long.” The annual MLB Fan Cave competition, now in its third year, seeks to find the most dedicated baseball fans in the nation and make them official “Cave Dwellers.” Among the 52 finalists—of which Ducote is the lone Louisiana representative and the only one to identify the Houston Astros as his favorite team—30 will be invited to spring training in Arizona next month. There they’ll compete in a variety of challenges to determine who will get to dwell in the MLB Fan Cave. Fans will determine via an online vote which finalists get to go to spring training and compete for a top spot.
