Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week returns for a sixth year in November with some familiar and new events.

BREW, which takes place Nov. 11-18, will once again include a competitive Pitch Night, as well as BRAC’s Big Think, Junior Achievement’s Student Pitch Competition and Failure Fest, according to the official event lineup released this morning.

New events include 1 Million Cups, an event for local entrepreneurs to meet and present their startups to the thriving peer network of founders; and She Geauxs, a women-focused leadership conference.

“There has never been a more important time for our community to rally around innovation and creativity,” says Byron Clayton, President and CEO of NexusLA, which is coordinating BREW with support from Business Report and 225 magazines. “BREW 2016 is going to be a celebration of the solid foundation we have in our entrepreneurial ecosystem currently and a vision of what our region can accomplish with more collaboration and support for those building the future.”

BREW festivities will kick-off with an official Startup Weekend hosted by the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute and wrap with a new event coordinated by TEDxLSU and EO at Tin Roof.

Several BREW organizers will be hosting pre-BREW events in September and October. Pitch BR will host a preliminary pitch competition on Sept. 29, feeding into the official BREW Pitch Night, and She Geauxs will host a women’s happy hour on Oct. 12.

Many of the events are free and open to the public, but some require paid tickets. BREW is annually held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week.
