Recipients of the 2013 Business Awards & Hall of Fame, presented by Business Report and Junior Achievement, have been unveiled. James “Jim” Bernhard, founder of The Shaw Group, is this year’s Hall of Fame Laureate, while Woman’s Hospital President/CEO Teri Fontenot is the Businessperson of the Year; Last in Concepts co-founders Brandon Landry and Jack Warner are the Young Businesspersons of the Year; Sparkhound is the Company of the Year for those with 100 or more employees; and GoTech is Company of the Year for those with fewer than 100 employees. The Business Awards were started in 1984 to pay tribute to remarkable individuals and companies within the local business sector in recognition of their many accomplishments. In 1993, Business Report brought in a partner, Junior Achievement, to present the awards, and the Hall of Fame category was added to recognize a lifetime of achievement.
