So in other words, Rolfe
What the Black_Chamber is trying to tell us is racism still exists and will never go away in United States.
Maybe these "progressive liberals" should take the word "progressive" out of their name. We the United States can never PROGRESS pass racism. We will always remain a racist country.

When my mother and her family came to the United States from Cuba, didn't speak any English (only Spanish), didn't expect any hand outs, didn't have to call themselves "hispanic", and didn't need Affirmative Action to get a job. And that was back in 1961.
Anyone who thinks they can't make it without some hand out or Affirmative Action policy - will never make it.
Affirmative Action is an insult in 2008. I got my job because because I am some "Minority" American, not because I earned it.
Barrack Obama was elected President because he earned it. Not because he was black or white. He earned it.
End Affirmative Action Now.

Thanks for the insults Fourx5 from California. Typical of liberals to make their points via insults instead of with facts.
If you’re looking for troubling times, visit the blue states. You’ll find plenty.
California = Blue State = 7 Billion Dollars in Debt.
Michigan = Blue State = Bankrupt Auto Industry.
Illinois = Blue State = High Unemployment
If we're in a recession, blame it on the high-tax, high-regulation, high-giveaway environments of the blue states, blue regions, and blue cities. Red states, RED VOTERS and the red regions within otherwise blue states, made the right decisions to vote against higher taxes and bigger government - but will be left accountable for the redistribution of wealth to the blue regions.
What do California, New York, Michigan, Illinoise, Ohio (Blue States) have in common??? Failed Liberalism.
Blue State = Bankrupt State
Blue Voter = FourX5
Red Stick = Baton Rouge
(Keep Baton Rouge in the Red)

I would love to see Republican Anh Joseph Quang Cao beat Democrat William "Cold Cash" Jefferson for the 2nd Congressional District Seat on Dec 6, 2008 (slim chance this will happen).
Cao would be the first Vietnamese-American ever elected to Congress (Escaped Communist Takeover of Saigon, Vietnam in 1975 at the age of 8). Cao (pronounced cow) understands the dangers of socialism and the "big government" platform of the Democrat Party.

Concerning Metro Council Zoning Issues:
Agree, women look at things different then men. A new perspective will help, especially when it comes to eliminating blight and cleaning up the city. Women notice details like if your shoes are polished, or if your bed is made, or if you have worn the same shirt like 3 days in a row, unlike men. This same perspective could be used to eliminate blight, like metal siding buildings, overhead powerlines, a new sign ordinance, new sidewalks, better landscaping etc - make our city look better.
For example: Kathleen Callaghan on the Planning Commission has consistently made very sound calls and judgement on the PC Board (Although not Metro Council, shows that women on these type of boards (which were male dominated in past times) can perform better then the men.)
Disagree that the current Metro Council has done nothing.
David Boneno established 3 Overlays in District 11.
Mickey Skyring opposed NIMYISM and helped pass the Rouzan TND (with Library) in District 12.
Byron Sharper knocked down many abandoned and blighted houses in District 7.
I think the current administration has done a good/fair job - but people only notice the bad things.

The Democrat Congress overwhelmingly supports the Bush/Pelosi/Reid Bailout.
Blue States (California-7billion in debt, Michigan-Auto Industry) are in need of Bailouts.
The Republican Congress overwhelmingly oppose the Bush/Pelosi/Reid Bailout.
Diehard Red States (like Texas) don't need a bailout.

Yes, I would agree. I don't support the bailout.
I also don't support giving loans to low income people who can't pay them back via Fannie & Freddie. Which is what the Democrat Party President Jimmy Carter & Bill Clinton did via the CRA Act. And the Democrat Congress (Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Gregory Meeks, Maxine Waters etc.) did by ignoring the warnings from President Bush, Congressman Baker, and the Auditors back in 2003 - that warned Fannie would soon fall apart if they continued to give loans to LOW-INCOME PEOPLE that can't pay them back (I call that socialism).

The Auto Industry and Detroit Michigan (Blue State) is a pefect example of what happens when Unions and the Democrat Party control private enterprise.

"State of the Union", maybe should have titled this article "The Soviet Union" instead.
"Employee Free Choice Act" = "Right for Other People to Own Your Business"

If anything should be compared to the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, it should be the EBR Public School Board, Teacher’s Union, Democrat Party Leadership, and the current Public School System that has been a complete FAILURE for the last 30+ Years.
NOW THAT IS A TUSKAGEE SYPHILLIS EXPERIMENT! Or as I like to say…another failed experiment in Socialism.
Time for CHANGE!!!
More charter school takeovers, so we don’t have people like Daryl Robertson and the EBR Public School Board running our schools.
Put schools into the hands of charitable and private organizations (ABR, 100 Black Men, etc.).
Then go VOUCHER!
Vouchers = Parent’s Choice = Government partnered with Private Schools
Fund the schools via a Voucher Program. Taxpayer pays the government. Government takes that money and gives it to the parent in the form of a voucher. The parent chooses which school to send their child and pays for it via the voucher. The school cashes in the voucher to pay for teachers, supplies, infrastructure etc.
The parents and students compete to get into the best schools. The schools compete for the best students and teachers. The schools that don’t perform – go out of business. The students that don’t perform – don’t get in the best schools. Competition brings out the best in people.
Which bring me to my next point….
Barack and Michelle Obama have CHOSEN a Washington, D.C., school for their daughters. Sasha, age 7, and Malia, age 10, will attend the Sidwell Friends School, a PRIVATE SCHOOL, that educates the children of much of Washington's elite (What's wrong with putting them in a Public School?).
If private schools are good enough for the Democrat Party Leadership – then private schools should be good enough for everyone. More charter school takeovers and vouchers – so that everybody, not just the elite, can afford proper schooling for their children.
