The commenter who derides McC for recommending Bush must not remember his opponents in those contests. I, too, wish that Kip had broken out his plan into separate components. An awfully hard pill to swallow when it includes the park aspect downtown.

Whenever I see a comment using the term "progressive", I consider the statement to be useless drivel. I remember all those years when people called progressive were socialist or some other form of leftist. Lindy, keep your screeching to yourself. Your opinion is only that and you are placing labels on others just as you accuse them of doing.

The "rerouting" scheme is a pathetic attempt to portray a school system as something it is not-an effective educational entity. Using the scores of the LA School for Math, Arts, and Science and the Ben Franklin School as those for all schools in the EBR system would paint a much rosier picture but would be totally without validity. Just like this rerouting scheme.

It just makes you want to shout a "jeremiah wrigtht" to the legislators and jindal. Jindal it turns out promised to prohibit just such a slimy move by legislators in his campaign. As C. B. Forgotston said today, he's more interested in keeping his word to 76 greedy, useless, extorting legislators by not vetoing the raise than to the 2 million Louisiana voters. He may provide yet another miracle if he can get re-elected on 76 votes..

C.B. Forgotston published an updated list at www.forgotston.com yesterday. While there may be a couple of decent proposals in the lot, if it isn't good enough to be considered in the light of day through the regular process, it has no business being in the state budget.

The fact that he and the Chief Deputy have new vehicles is essentially meaningless. As he's doing, he needs to take care of the Deputies on the street as well.

Anonymous is full of it on Raiford. He was and is an excellent adminstrator wherever he may be and he did not spend 25 years in the Sheriff's Office. Until recently he was the best public works director this parish ever had and a fine man. A pity the Sheriff didn't want him but it's his choice.
