Brett Jackson gets my vote. Brett, you do realize that with three like minded canidates, you may very well get elected. Good Luck!

I wish Skyring would reconsider running again.

As a long time Southdowns resident, I support Mickey Skyring and his stance against the SCCA's Fear and Smear Campaign of Rouzan.

As a SCCA member I think a Recall Alex St. Amant Campaign would better serve the neighborhood.

Dot, your right the vast majority of people who live in Southdowns are wonderful people and I’m glad to live amongst them both those for and against Rouzan. There is also a relatively small group who are against Rouzan that are very frustrated about the current situation and lash out at anyone who opposes their view.

The “fear and smear” campaign by some who claim to represent Southdowns has only helped to ignite these frustrations (Tuesday’s editorial in the Advocate is one example). If they put the same effort into getting our traffic and drainage systems fixed these problems would have been addressed years ago, but that would take away their primary defense during their “fight for the neighborhood” campaigns.

Density is the key to a successful TND, too much or too little and the TND suffers. As stated in this article, the developer has hired some of the most experienced planners, designers, and architects on TNDs to do the conceptual design. It is paramount that they are involved with any compromise to ensure that too much negative impact does not occur from the wishes of well meaning but inexperienced existing residents.

Perkins Rowe is not like Rouzan. This would be like comparing CitiPlace to Rouzan, since the developer built both. Now comparing Perkins Rowe to CitiPlace makes some sense.

Funny you should mention Bobby Simpson, since he was the one that gave into the Southside Civic Association and stopped the widening of I-10 from Acadian to downtown when he was Mayor-President.
