Blue Cross shows its muscle

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana received its 10th consecutive “A” rating for financial strength from national rating service Standard & Poor’s. The company was noted for its strong operating performance, competitive position and capitalization.

IEM aids Alabama

IEM, a Baton Rouge-based homeland security and emergency management company, has contracted with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency to help Alabama evaluate and improve preparedness for catastrophic events.

Kindness on the hill

The Friends of LSU Hilltop Arboretum received a $500,000 donation from Imo Brown in honor of her late husband L. Heidel Brown. The gift also honors her late husband’s father, C.J. Brown Sr., because of his friendship with the arboretum’s founder, Emory Smith.

Playmakers moves

Playmakers of Baton Rouge has relocated to the Shaw Center for Arts, a move which coincides with its 25th anniversary. For the past three seasons, the company operated from Baton Rouge Little Theatre’s second stage.

Additional therapy

The Massage Therapy Centre in Denham Springs has expanded, doubling the number of therapists on staff and adding therapy rooms, a steam shower and a fitness assessment room.
