Senate race opens up House seats for Baton Rouge area politicos
With state Reps. Regina Barrow and Dalton Honoré, both Democrats representing the Baton Rouge area, eyeing Senate District 15—Senate President Pro Tem Sharon Weston Broome is term-limited—other Baton Rouge politicos are beginning to line up to fill their vacant House seats, assuming they both qualify and run for the upper chamber.
In Honoré’s House District 63, Marlon Moore, a certified orthotist and board eligible prosthetist, is being encouraged to run for the open seat. It has been quiet so far in the district, which picks up Southern University and portions of Zachary and Baker. But that could change in the coming weeks.
