Brooks Thompson Consulting—a fundraising and philanthropic consulting firm in Baton Rouge led by Beverly Brooks Thompson—is dissolving as it joins Carter Global, a national consulting firm that provides counsel to nonprofits worldwide.
Thompson will join Carter Global’s team of 29 philanthropic consultants, according to a press release. “My firm will be dissolved into Carter Global,” Thompson says. “I will be a managing director with them, which is great. Each of our existing clients and contracts have been renegotiated with Carter.”
The timing of the announcement works out well for Brooks, who is currently running for a seat in the state Senate.
Thompson, who founded her firm in early 2017, previously served as chief development officer at Woman’s Hospital and director of the Forever LSU fundraising campaign. Her firm worked with nonprofits in fundraising, high net-worth families on philanthropic planning and corporations on corporate responsibility strategies.
“To be on this trajectory of success as such young firm and catch the attention of Carter Global, it’s gratifying,” Thompson says. “I could not be more excited. Bob Carter, the chair of Carter Global, and Steve Higgins (president) are unparalleled in the industry.”
Thompson will work for Carter Global from her home office and close her business office on Bluebonnet Boulevard. She adds that her team at Brooks Thompson Consulting “will be well taken care of,” adding she can’t discuss further details.
