Metro Council member Dwight Hudson will soon push for a measure asking voters to rededicate a portion of tax dollars from the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System and Mosquito Abatement and Rodent Control to pay for drainage and sewerage upkeep.
The city-parish will bid out the drainage and flood-control projects it is proposing to fund with some of the recent pandemic relief money appropriated to Baton Rouge in order to get work going more quickly, city-parish Director of Transportation and Drainage Fred Raiford says.
Mayor Sharon Weston Broome’s administration has released its plan for spending the first batch of pandemic relief money coming to the city-parish under President Biden’s American Rescue Act.
